PURPOSE

Before I die, I want to make an impact in as many lives as possible. I truly believe that is my purpose.

Purpose is an interesting word and discovering your purpose can be quite the journey.

Many times your purpose is masked by pain and covered by fear. It took me a while to discover my actual purpose. I know a lot of people say happiness is temporary but it also leads you to purpose. I will encourage people to start doing what makes them happy. That will be the starting point of discovering what your purpose is.

Once you find happiness you can then discover joy. For instance, I was happy creating awesome lesson plans for my preschoolers but it brought me joy when a parent told me that their child remembered what we learned. It's the random "Thank you" messages from previous parents that makes my heart smile.

I am a visionary and it takes me no time to come with a business name, logo and idea. I remember following a young lady who has a credit repair business. I admired her so much I came up with my own credit repair company. It wasn't until a revelation that I had that I soon realized I'm not doing what brings me joy. I admired her story and loved how much she has accomplished but that wasn't my path. Honestly, I didn't want to read about new laws about credit anyway.

That moment I realized you can admire someone's story but you do not have to follow in their footsteps.

Honestly, it's hard for me to give my all to something I am not passionate about. The Adrienne planning for a speech or a workshop is different from the Adrienne working a 9 to 5. The Bible says your gifts will make room for you. I believe this to be true. Many times when I have an engagement or event everything falls into place. I do not have to worry or stress about anything. I am excited and ready.

How do you discover your purpose?

- Write down 3 things that you absolutely enjoy doing and 3 things that you hate

- What are two things you want to accomplish before you die?

- If you could do anything or be anything what would it be and why?

Your purpose doesn't necessary have to be a place or position. My purpose in life is to make an impact in as many lives as possible through my many gifts. If I have touched someone by using my gifts I am operating in my purpose. That also means I have not let fear stop me or my past hinder me.
